It’s still as good now as it was back then. I’ve completed this game at least 30 times over the years, since its original release back in 2007 and it never gets old. The game is quite short by today’s standards but it feels complete and replayability is huge. The level design is very clever, keeping you in one location but using different parts of the space (upper/lower levels, interior/exterior etc.). The game is perfectly edited and flows seamlessly from one chapter to the next. It’s often overlooked as the lesser entry in the series but I still rank it very close to the second game, in terms of pure fun and the feeling of adventure.
It’s been years since I last played it but what a masterpiece of a game. I also replayed Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. But other than this, I thought the game was excellent. It does leave my final thoughts on game on a bit of a sour note. I’ve earned every other trophy in the game except the Master difficulty one but I’ve decided it’s not worth the stress.
#MAX PAYNE 3 INTRO MANUAL#
Unfortunately, the devs patched out the glitch which allowed you to skip the Master difficulty playthrough (spoil sports) but somehow missed the several invisible wall glitches throughout the game which prevent you from progressing and require a manual save reload. And I’ve platinumed a few tough games in my time.
#MAX PAYNE 3 INTRO MOVIE#
Check out Max Payne 3 screenshots, intro movie and trophies below. I don’t like to use the word ‘impossible’ but this is one of the hardest difficulty modes I’ve ever played. Max Payne 3 will launch on May 15 in the US and on May 18 in Europe for PS3 and Xbox 360. One thing that does let it down slightly was the jump in difficulty on ‘Master’ difficulty. Only without the wall-running and a million light seeds to collect. It reminded me a little of Prince of Persia (2008), clearing away the corruption and battling/saving lost souls consumed with anger and bitterness. I finished Kena: Bridge of Spirits and absolutely loved it. Aside from those, I've really been enjoying Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars recently, and I'm hoping to conclude Zombie Army 4: Dead War's campaign soon. I have a couple of indie games to review, though I'm probably not meant to tell you what they are. I've already had to brute force my way through a side quest-breaking bug, and now I need to catch one of every fish. I've been playing it on and off for over a year, but it's finally time to get the Assassin's Creed Valhalla Platinum Trophy. I probably should be preparing my Game of the Year votes, but I simply can't resist finishing this. I'm having a blast with Mafia: Definitive Edition, a game that's been in my backlog since it launched last year. For everyone else, well, we hope you’re having a great week, too. For our American readers, we sincerely hope you’re enjoying the holidays, and had a happy Thanksgiving celebration.
